About Me

A former shoe salesperson, bookstore clerk, high school English teacher and librarian who now spends my days taking care of two very loud children while working from home and spends my other days volunteering in her community, visiting family and friends or sitting in pajamas reading sophisticated works of literature or watching trashy tv. It’s taken 6 years of motherhood and over 10 years of marriage to finally start writing some of my stories. My goal is to make you laugh and realize life is not as perfect as it looks in pictures. My other goal is to simply have a place to record our history.

But, I am not just a mom. While I am at a stage where my children take up the majority of my time, energy and brain, I have tried to hold on tightly to the things that make me “me.” For me, this is reading anything I can get my hands on, but I especially enjoy a good family drama. I love to discuss books. I really, really love it. I’m in two book clubs and both help me breathe. Please look at What I’m Reading for book reviews, and please feel free to discuss books in the comments.

I am now working from home as a freelance writer. I do a bit of blog writing, article writing, website content writing, and some ghostwriting. I have written about everything from funeral planning to pregnancy cravings to digital marketing. I learn something new every day! I am planning to take on my clients as my children spend more hours in school, so if you know of anyone in need of a writer, send them my way.
